I was always amazed that 48 days could be compressed to 43 minutes or so, as opposed to the previous 30 episodes from the main crash section. Amazing episode really.

Got a big smile when you mentioned Ajira and a pilot. Frank may be my favorite thing about season 4. Can't wait to see him again
I do love how this show is constantly in conversation with itself, reinterpreting and illuminating past events. When we saw Boone's half of the radio conversation in Season One, the line revealed to be spoken by Bernard was officially subtitled as "There were no survivors of Oceanic Flight 815!" and the audio is just unclear enough that the difference can be chalked up to an auditory illusion.
Similarly, it never fully clicked for me that the barefoot Others from this arc must have been the ones from the temple, but the show does more or less spell that out when we see Cindy with them later. The show really rewards this sort of rewatch, looking backwards and forwards.
