Our country's self-professed moral authorities haven't only failed to be as good as they claim to be. They've proved themselves worse than many of us are able to imagine.
I was mildly surprised at your surprise that the jury found Trump guilty on all 34 counts. He will always do disastrously in court because he is transparently a criminal, and even the briefest glance at the evidence proves it.
But the briefest glance is just what Trump and his allies strive to prevent. That is why their so keen to control the judiciary. That is why Bannon is so keen to 'flood the zone'. Because when you're up to your neck in shit, there's no (mental) time or space to even glance at the evidence, and the fact that the evidence is routinely covered in shit doesn't help.
So have more faith in juries. Convicting trump him isn't even slightly problematic. The problem is getting him into court in front of a legitimate judge.

Not sure how you concluded from my comment that I have any faith in US institutions or the court system. The US judicial system is corrupt and incompetent. But present a jury with the an accurate account of the evidence and they will convict Trump every time. Hence the need to pre-empt legal cases by flooding the zone. Hence my reply.
I have just begun to read this, and will get right back to it, but couldn’t help but notice your reference to their expensive haircuts early in the piece. That is ALL I notice with these scumbags. That slick little side-part with the #2 setting up the neck and sides. EVERY ONE OF THEM has it except Trump and the men of color. Somebody tells them it’s their uniform. I want to see it on paper.
