Just this.

We need to keep this squarely in mind when we consider how we interact with rank and file GOP voters (aka, the fascist crowd), who have taken our indulgent tolerance of their odious views and choices, and rewarded us by making every effort to dissolve our democracy, and in its place install an autocratic regime in the service of creating an apartheid state.

You've pretty much nailed it.

Now what?

Recognizing the truth of what you're saying comes with bottomless terror. We don't know what to do. We're untrained and untested. We want the ship to right itself. We fall in desperate love with anecdotes about this one guy or that one woman who sat down with a Trumper and talked him out of it, because one whiff of hope that a pit viper really does want to learn to cuddle will allow us a night's sleep.

Now what?
