I'm sure your Lost material is excellent but not having followed the series I pass on it. Keep up the great work.

I’ve read a stretch of a few if them, and that’s literally all i know about Lost.

I watched the entire series just to read those essays. It sounds a bit nutty but any show that induces someone to write essays has to have something to it.

One of the things I miss about Twitter is stumbling on random (to me) gems like your account. I appreciate your writing. Enjoy your vacation!

Thank you back for everything you’ve written. I’ve been reading you now for years after coming across you on Twitter and it’s helped keep me sane. It’s so great to see that there are others out there who see what’s happening clearly and are allies to minorities.

I used to ebook everything, because the environment! but I recently unpacked a decade of books and magazines and compared that to the digital cruft I have strewn across platforms and realized that the only things that endure in both my memory and safe from the whims of billionaires is physical media, and so.

Exactly this.

I've got books from Humble Bundle, Story Bundle, Kindle, Kobo, Google and probably more.

I can't remember at this point, after many years, what book is where, on which app/website.

I don't have enough storage on my home PC to accommodate them all (many were graphic novel bundles) and just logging in to everywhere is irritating enough I don't do it often.

Whereas my physical books are just... Right there, on my shelf. I can see them, know what I own and read it instantly.

I'm getting fed up of e-books.

Re question 3. Actually, I’d be most apt to buy it if it were available as an audio book.

First, let me note how much I enjoy your writing.

But - I am getting up there in age, which means I have a direct memory of journalist and other essay writers spanning many decades.

In my large personal library are a few essay compilations from decades and decades ago, and it mostly makes me sad to re-read them: sometimes the author has died, but more often things have gotten so much worse since then and it hurts to read how hopeful and optimistic even the snarkiest essays were. So I no longer buy compilations of topical essays.

For clarity: I'd probably get a physical copy and an ephemeral copy of a Reframe essay collection. (One for the bookshelf to impress visitors, one to actually read.) Enjoy the Recharge.

I don’t recall now exactly how I found it. I imagine it must have been scrolling though Twitter but back in 2017 still reeling with fear and depression as the reality of Trumpism was setting in making me see what millions of Americans REALLY felt inside I read Bubbles 0 - Art on your website and hit the sentence “Every human being is a unique and irreplaceable work of art carrying intrinsic and unsurpassable worth.” and that sentence along with rest of the essay was a confirmation of everything I was feeling so I proceeded to read the rest of that series and was appreciative and impressed by the unblinking moral clarity of that writing so I’m here as long as you publish!! Good luck w the manuscript!

You’re a good guy and a great read. I’m retired and I can’t send money because I read a lot of stuff I HAVE to pay for, but I do get a kick out of your stuff.

I enjoy the Lost stuff, It jumped the shark for me as a viewer and its nice to see that others see more to it and your analysis informs and enlightens me and keeps me from feeling compelled to re-watch it.

I answered your questions, not because I have a specific position or preference. I’m just trying to participate/contribute. I haven’t read your last two installments because it’s been a (good) hectic couple of weeks. So, looking forward to getting caught up, but I can’t categorize your work when I’m mostly reading because I like your work. I answered Hardback, because I miss reading a book, and when I do find a book I’m interested, it’s usually hard cover because it feels more like the thing of value a reading experience should be. Don’t know why I felt the need to explain. Maybe I just felt like talking about something else besides work…

Was The Die-ers the last of a 3-part series or the third of a longer one? Either way, more like this please.

It’s been a LONG time since any series of essays re-organized my mind and challenged my heart like yours on repair did. You’ve made me work harder to be a better person. I’ll always read you! Many thanks, my friend, for your courage to dig into the truth up there in Michigan!
